The Self-Assessment document is prepared by a country’s Accrediting Agency and provided to each school being assessed/accredited. The Self-Assessment relates to each of the Standards of Medical Education and their associated Elements and requires the school to make an honest compliance assessment for each Standard and gauge their performance in each Element.
The Self-Assessment is accompanied by a Data Collection Instrument (DCI) where schools provide data to back up the narrative provided in the Self-Assessment.
